Mangaluru: In a joint operation, Kapu and Shirva police arrested six youths inconnection with kidnap and assault case at Katapady on Monday. The arrested have been identified as Deepak (19), Dikshith (20), Ujwal (20), Sumanth (20), Sathyaraj (23) and Nithesh (28). The police yet to arrest murder accused Guru and three others who were involved in the same case.

The accused reportedly kidnapped, Shiva Prasad, Manjuth and brought them Alevoor school ground and assaulted them seriously threatening to their lives after vehicle overtaking issue. The incident occurred on October 29 in Shirva police station area limits.

All accused arrested following information from the public on the culprits. Udupi Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Patil announced cash reward of Rs 5000 and a certificate for the people who provided information on the culprits to the police.
