Udupi: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Loksabha MP Shobha Karandlaje has asked the concerned not to collect toll at toll gates located Sasthan and Hejamadi toll gates of her constituency till a decision is made on toll collection from locals. A meeting chaired by chief secretary of Karnataka State should take a decision on the issue to resolve the problems of the locals.
MP asked the deputy commissioner to fix a date and time to hold a meeting with the chief secretary of the state government on the issues related to toll collection from locals. She was speaking in a meeting held at Udupi deputy commissioner’s office to discuss issues related to toll collection at newly constructed toll gates and expansion works of national highway in her constituency.
Speaking in the meeting, Shobha gave solutions to the issues related to construction of service roads, fly-over, drainage and others of national highway 66. MP also asked the government authorities, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and national highway expansion work contract company Navayuga to make upcoming highway works more people friendly. NHAI, Navayuga officials and other concerned authorities from various government departments were took part in the meeting.
