Bangalore: The 220 MW electric power flow from Koodumkulam plant in Tamil Nadu has not reached over borders, said Shobha Karandlaje, Minister for Power, while telling media people on Saturday that there was an acute shortage of electricity in the state.
She accused the Centre of (the well known adage) step-motherly treatment towards Karnataka, by not providing Coal supply for thermal plants from Singareni (in Andhra), nor electric supply from surplus states elsewhere, say from Central Grid.
She pointed out that what was Karnataka’s power was actually flowing to Andhra (a Congress State).
So much so, load-shedding would go on for one more month. This from a minister who was talking in pouring rains in monsoon, about no power cuts even in summer!
She said that expected power supply was not coming to state from Ramagundam (Andhra) and Simhadri (National Thermal Power Corporation) units, but a load-shedding time table would be ready by Monday to warn users in high-rise buildings.
