Nitte-Karkala: The Nitte Institute of Technology, established in 1986 by Justice K. Sadananda Hegde, in a rural area with only 120 students, and has grown up into a great recognised technical education Centre with Over 3,000 students from all over India and abroad, is in its Silver Jubilee year(25), being Celebrated on November 18 with CM DV Sadananda Gowda present as chief Guest.
A long list of disnitaries like Dr. V. S. Acharya (minister of higher education), and Dr. H. Maheshappa, Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Techno University of Belgaum, an others will be present as guests of honour on the great occasion, presided over by Nitte Vinay Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University.
Dr. S.Y. Kulkarni, Principal of NMAM Institute of Technology at Nitte, has informed that a Vocational Training Centre(cost Rs.4.5 crores) and a Biofuel Information Demonstration Centre(cost Rs.1.5 crores) are expected to be on inauguration at the time, according to the pressnote.
The Institute offer 7 graduate programmes in Engineering and 7 other PG/Research programmes as well. It has won the Best college award in 2004-05 from Government of Karnataka, and several other awards later as well. A SJ souvenir “ Sadichche”(Good wishes) will be released during the day.
