Mangalore : Students Islamic Organization of India of Dakshina Kannada district unit staged a protest in front of the Office of Deputy Commissioner on July 19, Tuesday demanding the resignation of Minister for Primary and Higher Education Minister Vishveshwara Hegade Kageri for his recent ‘provocative statement’.
Addressing the protesters Arafa Manchi, said that the minister’s statement hurts the sentiment of majority of the people of the state and it is an insult to the constitution.
He said that Kageri’s statement shows that, he has forgotten the existence of democracy in the state.
The protesters demanded that Kageri should resign or the Chief Minister should suspend him from the cabinet immediately.
Mohammad Nisar, DK district Organizer of SIO, Sarfaraz, President of SIO Mangalore, Musthaq Ahmed Patla, President of SIO West Region and others were present.
