Moodbidri : The Moodbidri police have been successful in arresting six persons who had stolen a tipper which was parked on the roadside at Mastikatte. The tipper belonged to GP member Suresh Mijar and the theft took place on August 18.

The GPS fitted in the tipper helped the cops to realize that it was at Hirisave near Hassan and the police  here with the help  of the police there seized the tipper and trapped the six persons.

The accused are   Munna alias Abdul Khader (19) of Jokatte, Ummar Farooq  of Karnad, Mohammad Javed (25) of Katipalla, Abdul Khader Janveer(37),  and Pachu alias Prasad (21) of Savanoor.The six had intended to sell the lorry to a scrap merchant in Bangalore. Police also said they had stolen six vehicles in the district and had sold its spare parts earlier.

 Four of the accused are taken to police custody while  two have been remanded to judicial custody.
