Belthangady: Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) will organise its 37th state level Krushi Mela (Agriculture Fest) from January 25 to 27, next year at Bailhongal in the state.
The fest will show case various agriculture tools, equipment used by the farmers, agri products, food and other products made by the self help groups in rural areas, exhibition of cattle including domestic animals and others. More than 600 stalls are expected to be opened and as many as 3 lakh farmers including women are likely to take part in the event. Various cultural events, felicitation programs for achievers in the agriculture field have also been organised in the three day mega event.
Speaking at a preliminary meeting of the fest at Bailahongal Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project executive director Dr LH Manjunath said the major objective of the event is to enhance confidence among the farmers and support farming sector in the country as the sector is facing various issues in the state and country. Many decisions taken in the earlier agriculture fests have been implemented by the state government as projects and plans, he pointed out.
