Mangaluru : Demanding several facilities South Kanara Photographers Association (SKPA) held protest rally from Town Hall to DC office on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering President of SKPA, Jagannath Shetty said that today’s protest is carried out not only in Dakshina Kannada, but all over the Karnataka also.
“We are supporting to the State Photographers Associations protest demanding consideration of local photographers for all the government purposes, including photographers to the unorganized labours group so that photographers can also get benefits of governments scheme, low interest rate for loan taken on cameras and other accessories, photographers children should come under RTE act so that they can also get seat in schools and colleges,” he said.
He further said that the government should give site and financial help to build photographers community hall which will be helpful to conduct meetings.
Speaking to megamedianews.in Shetty said that there are nearly 3600 registered photographers in DK and Udupi, more than 3 lakh photographers all over Karnataka are protesting today.
“The main intention of protesting is to urge the government to give more importance to the local photographers for the governmental projects,” he said.
Commenting on the next move of association he said that, the association office bearers will hold a meeting to discuss about it. Office bearers from all the district will gather at one place and decide the next course of action.
