Mangalore : The first lunar eclipse of the year occurred on April 26, Thursday. The Penumbral lunar eclipse occurred between 1.24 am to 1.53 am. The duration of the eclipse differed in different places.
Thursday’s eclipse was partial and a small portion of the moon was obscured by the earth’s umbral shadow.
Temples in the district held special prayers and thousands of devotees also flocked temples to offer prayers.
The next eclipse is a solar eclipse which will take place on May 10.
