Mangalore: The body of the Naxal who was killed in an encounter with ANF in the forests near Subrahamanya on Wednesday, has been placed at the morgue of Wenlock Hospital. Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy visited the hospital on September 6, Thursday to ascertain the procedures of identifying the body of the slain Naxal.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion, the IGP said the killed Naxal had two double barrel guns, improvised explosive device, a country made pistol, a tent, ammunition, bullets etc.
He said the Sub divisional Magistrate will inquest and give the details of his whereabouts. The IGP also said there was a suspicion that the killed was from Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh. The identity could be established only after the DNA test, said Pratap Reddy.
He said the police in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have been informed of the operation.
