Mangalore : A new SMS Complaint Service has been launched by the Mangalore City Corporation to help public lodge complaints and grievances regarding garbage.

An informative programme regarding the SMS Complaint service was held at the MCC office in the presence of Mayor Gulzar Banu, Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat and other officials.

Those having any grievance or complaint regarding garbage disposal system will have to just send an SMS to 8123666266 in the prescribed format along with the ward  number and the details of the complaint.

The complainant will get an acknowledgement in return wherein h is complaint number as well as the mobile number of the  field officer to whom the complaint has been referred to will be furnished. The facility will be available 24X7.
MLA and Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat who spoke on the occasion said the new service would be very beneficial. He said there was also a proposal to fit GPS to garbage vehicles and also to introduce  M-Governance. Bhat also stated that the government has plans to bring builders under the ambit of Corporate Social Responsibility.
