Moodbidri:  A court in Moodbidri has granted bail to Ashwini in connection with the murder of her father Snake Ashok. It may be recalled here that Ashwini along with her mother Chandravathi was arrested by the police almost a year after the missing of Ashok.

The case had  remained mysterious  for over an year  when Ashok was reported missing. It later came to light that Chandravathi had murdered a sleeping Ashok by dumping the grinding stone on his head and then disposed the body by burning it in the bathroom. Ashwini is learnt to have abetted her mother in the act.

Ashok was a popular personality in the area and used to come to the aid of any person in need of help  to catch a snake or to rescue anyone in danger.

However, it came to light that an extra marital affair of Ashok’s wife was responsible for the killing, when she was trapped with her brother-in-law in a compromising position   near Gommata Hill.
