Mangaluru: Two conmen dressed up as transgender men to loot money by fooling the public were caught red-handed here at Kadri Park by social worker Sowraj Mangaluru.
There were several complaints from the public that some thieves dressed up as transgender men were begging and harassing in the park and other public places.
The con job came to light when Sowraj caught two of the fake eunuchs red-handed at Kadri Park. One of the men, who had dressed up as transgender was identified as Gopi, a resident of Sattar, a village in Bihar. Another person claims to be from Madikeri. However, a thorough investigation will reveal details about their network in the city.
Sowraj speaking to daijiworld said, “These conmen masquerading as transgender men collect money from the public at toll plazas, malls, parks and other public places. They collect Rs 50 or 100 and when public refuse to give money, they harass them.”
Sowraj has indeed revealed in his live video that those got caught at the park were fake. Two men dressed up as transgender people with wigs on their heads, who were caught at Kadri park understood their limitations avoided conversing with him and also tried to escape.
Prakash, one of the residents of Kottara said, “I have found these fraudsters pretending to be transgender people and harassing people in various parts of the city. In the guise of eunuchs, they have been behaving indecently and extorting money. Police need to take stern action against such conmen.”
The live video of the social worker has gone viral on social media with many giving thumbs up for creating awareness about such fraudsters in the city.
