Mangalore : On the second day Saturday ( Jan 4,2014) religious rituals were performed meticulously by purohits at the Vajdehi Math annual day festival with a mid day pooja. Around noon. At 12.30 pm in the afternoon a Dharmik Sabha was organised with Ajith Kumar Rai Malady in the chair. Swami Rajashekaranada of Vajra Dehi Math of Gurpur and Rudra Muni Swami of Jangam Math Gurpur were present and delivered key note and benedictory speeches. Thousands of delegates were present during mid day meals and the Dharmika Sabha discourses.
Addressing the gathering the Vajradehi Math Swamiji told that it is very difficult to see god with human eyes but we could see him in persons who are committed to continues social service among down trodden and depressed sections of human society. God is like the sun in the sky but on earth we can see is like and recognize social workers like Ajith Kuamar Rai and Vijayanath V. Shetty who spend a lot of money with one hand so that the other hand may not know about it. That is valid contribution in the eyes of society and in the name of God.
He said that the tulu culture on coastal region and the tulu language which we speak make us all common brothers of a single society. If every reach man gave away his execss wealth then hundreds of poor people in his society could live as happily as he did.
Vijayanath V. Shetty an industrialist announced a contribution of Rs. 5 lakhs on the spot and promised took to give more as and when more plans to serve tulu people gain ground.
Ajith Kumar Rai in his presidential speech told the audience that he had received Mantra- Dikisha ( Ordination) from his Guru of Vajradehi Math and had started social service almost immediately thereafter and continued it till this day, and had no regrets whatsoever . He complimented the organizers of the annual day celebrations in the heart of the city so that everyone interested could watch the proceedings here.
After the Dharmik Sabha there was a humorous programme at 4pm by veteran actor Gangavathi Pranesh, Basavraj and Narashimha Joshi which entertain all the delegates presents.
Vedamoorthy Ananth Upadyaya, Rajesh Rai Palthaje, Suresh Bhandary Mumbai, Chandrahasa kadri, Kumari Hasini Udupi were honored as achievers in several walks of life and professions.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateelu, Balakrishna Bhandry ( Mumbai), Manjunath Bhandary Shedde, Janardhan Arkula. Annappa Prabhu and many others took part in the proceedings of the second day programme.
