Mangaluru: Soldier Zubair who had recently fought against terrorists at Karan Nagar in Jammu and Kashmir, was accorded a rousing welcome during his visit to native village at Koila on Sunday.
He was a part of the Army personnel that had captured two terrorists at Karan Nagar in Jammu and Kashmir on February 12.
The 28-year-old Zubair, a native of Puttur taluk, serves with the 49th battalion of CRPF at Karan Nagar Battalion headquarters. He was also honoured with the Commendation Disc and Certificate.
Lecturer Dr Mohammed Musthafa Athooru said, “Zubair is a model for the youth. By serving the country, one should display patriotic fervour.”
Speaking after accepting the honour, Zubair said, “Citizens should love their mother land. The soldiers are ready to serve the nation at all situations.”
Speaking further, he said, “The community should honour the soldiers and come forward to serve the nation. The honour at my native place has increased my responsibility.”
