Mangalore : Tibetan students and youth residing in Mangalore and around took out a solidarity rally to mark the 54th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day. They also demanded a Tibet free from Chinese oppression. The participants of the rally were dressed in flag and held Tibetan flags. The rally was organised by the Tibetan Youth Congress.

Sherab  Gyaltsen of Tibetan Youth Congress who led the rally said  there was a need for a concerted fight to free Tibet from Chinese oppression and highlighted how Tibetans were deprived of their rights and made to suffer. He also said several have sacrificed their lives for the cause of Tibet.

The rally was taken out from Bejai to Nehru Maidan where a convention was held. Several local students too took part.
