Bangalore : In a final report presented to CM Yeddyurappa today in Bangalore, the Justice B.K.Somashekhara Commission that enquired into Church attacks during 2008, has absolved BJP, state government and RSS family members of all charges of participation, and given a clean chit to them. The commission confirmed that there was no basis for petitions to complain against BJP and others, and no apprehensions need be entertained by them. There were no direct or indirect attacks on churches from these parties as alleged. The report said police did not collude with any attackers to violate churches or places of worship.
The Christian protesters were, however, not treated in a sympathetic manner by the administration, the Commission noted.
The report recommended a separate police station with trained officers for religious matters in each district. The government should not interfere in their working, it added.
