Belthangady : A person  hacking his father to death with a wooden log at Nadu Mundyottu in Gardady village of Belthangady taluk on January 18, Monday night.

The arrested accused identified is Harish Poojary (27).

The deceased is Sridhar Poojary (56). It is believed that the accused resorted to this barbaric act under the influence of alcohol.

Harish who worked as a construction worker in Bengaluru for some time had married a girl of another caste there reportedly without informing his family. It is learnt, the father and son used to often quarrel over this issue after Harish had settled in his native place recently.  However on Monday, the quarrel culminated in the father’s murder.

Venoor Police registered a case.
