Talapady :  Outstanding achievers in the field of Kambala were felicitated at a function held during the Soorya-Chandra Jodukere Kambala held at Panjala in Talapady on March 23 and 24.

Speaking at a function held in this connection, Gunapal Kadamba, General Secretary of the DK and Udupi District Kambala Samithi, said the government need to encourage and extend patronage to Kambala and the people behind it.

Mijarguttu Anand Alva,  an achiever in the field of Kambala and agriculture,  Bolanthur Gangadhar Rai,  Karinje Vishwanath Shetty, Udupi district Rajyotsava Award winner, K Jaya Shetty Kakkepadavu, Kambala jockey and Sanjeevlal couple, entrepreneurs from Mumbai, were felicitated on the occasion.

The function was earlier inaugurated by Ajith Kumar Rai Malady, President of Global Federation of Bunts Associations, Dr Mohandas Rai, Professor in AJ Medical College,  KC Alva Nettila of Connect Builders, Mangalore and Raviraj Shetty, President of Mangalore Taluk Buntara Sangha.
