Mangalore : Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo, said nearly Rs 350 crores has already been endorsed for various projects in Mangalore city, mainly drinking water, drainage, rain water drainage, waste management and development of the roads comes under this plan, he said.
Addressing the pressmen at the DK District Congress office on Wednesday, February 5, Lobo said last eight month period progress works started in his constituency.
2013-14 third quarter of this year, a 100 crore project including construction of footpaths on major roads in the city and the development a few main roads will be carried out. Sanction has been obtained and the tender process is on. Rs 65 crore has been sanctioned for the project. Rs 9.26 crore sanctioned from the SFC Fund will also be utilized for the same purpose, he added.
Markets at Kankanady, Kadri and Urvastores will also be developed and, the blue prints and project reports pertaining to the reconstruction of the Central Market have been ready. This project has been planned on public-private partnership and the entire project will be carried out at a cost of Rs 300 crore, he informed.
Kadri Park in Mangalore and the Mathias Park at Falnir will be developed and added Rs 25 lakhs and Kadri Park will attract a number of new attractions. A musical fountain will add to the park.
At cost of Rs 3.06 crores seven health centres will also come up at Jeppu, Ekkur, Padil, Shaktinagar and other places, the MLA said.
The construction of underpasses at the railway crossings near Padil, Bajal, Mahakalipadpu and Jeppu Kudpady project cost, 50 percent will be tolerate by the MCC, he said.
