Mangalore : MLA U. T. Khader in press meet held at Congress Office on Oct 25, Monday accused the Speaker K. G. Bopaiah of acting custodian to the Bharatiya Janatha Party.
He also said that the speaker has tried to protect the BJP party by issuing notices to 15 Congress and JD (S) MLAs.
He also accused the BJP ministers for curbing the opposition MLAs’. Speaking on the protest held by the Opposition MLA’s he said it was quite natural response by them when ruling party turned dictatorial and mot permitted to participate in the session.
Clarifying that he had only protested the unconstitutional act of the speaker, but hadn’t broken any furniture in the process, he said that he had done the right thing as a responsible legislator and a representative of the people.
He said that the committee has issued a notice to 15 MLAs, including him, to appear before it on Oct 28, he explained.
