Mangalore : A total of 222 special children from DK district  have been selected for provision of aids like crutches and wheel chairs which can help them lead a normal life. Accordingly, children from Mangalore city limits,  were provided with the equipment at a function held at the Scouts and Guides Bhavan in Mangalore on  June 18 Monday.  Nearly 24 children were extended the benefits.

Shivaramegowda, Deputy Secretary of Zilla Panchayat who inaugurated the programme  said the government was making every possible effort to bring the special children to the mainline society.

Peethambar, Assistant  Planning Officer of Sarva Shikhsa Abhiyan, Dayavathi, Block Education Officer,  and several other officials were present.
