Mangalore : G.N. Nagaraj, CPI (M) State Secretariat member said that today caste facilities are decreasing and caste discussions are increasing and CPI(M) opposes the caste discussion taking place in politics.
He was speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Nov 26, Monday. He also said that the special status to the Hyderabad- Karnataka must be passed in this winter season and implementing authority must be given to the state.
He also said that the CPIM will hold the convention in Bangalore and CPIM leader Brinda Karat will inaugurate this today. He also said that CPI(M) will collect 5 crore signs and will submit to President regarding this.
Speaking on FDI in retail sector, he said that the council of ministers have still not approved the bill, then how is it possible to implement it, he said.
The prices of essential commodity will increase, if the subsidy is given in cash, hence it must be withdrawn, he said.
Commenting on the Naveen Soorinje’s case, he said that the police department has charged cases against the reporter more than the real 44 accused. The department has focused Naveen’s mistake for showing real faces of the goons who have assaulted the girls in the homestay. This shows that the police department is in the hands of Sangh Parivar.
If it was the mistake of channel telecasting it, then why had they failed to arrest the editor and owner of the channel, who telecasted it, he added.
