Moodbidri: Alva’s Education Foundation of Moodbidri celebrated the 66^th Independence Day in a unique and colourful way at the Vidyagiri Sundari Ananda Alva campus on Wednesday. The special attraction of the day was the participation of 16000 students in a splendid formation of tricolor on the ground.

Students of all Alva’s institutions took part in the celebrations.

Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde who was the chief guest, said it was a tragedy that today we have to celebrate independence day amid fear of terror attacks, at a time when the first Independence Day was celebrated fearlessly.

Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, Amarnath Shetty, former minister and others were present on the occasion.
