Mangalore : A special meeting convened at the DC office under the presidentship of KH Muniappa, Union Minister of State for Railways has decided to hold another meet on October 23 to discuss the problems pertaining to railways and national highways in DK and Udupi districts.
The meeting to be held on October 23 would be attended by MPs, MLAs elected representatives and other authorities concerned, it was told at the meeting, MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel and Jayaprakash Hegde drew the attention of the ministers towards the problems faced in the extension of the NH 66 at Baikampady and National Highway 75. The minister said the issues would be settled at the October 23 meeting.
The DC spoke on the delay in the completion of the construction of fly over and service roads in BC Road and Kulur. Responding to this, the minister said the works underway since the past eight years and directed that the works should be completed within 45 days failing which IRCON will face disciplinary action.
