Mangalore: A five member team led by Radhakrishnan, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Palakkad has been formed to put a check on ragging cases involving students in trains, particularly in Chervbattur-Mangalore and Mangalore-Kannur trains.
It is learnt, the police are contemplating stern action on students found to be accused of ragging their junior students or other passengers in the train.
It is worth mentioning here that recently a student of a private college in Ullal had jumped off a moving Chervattur-Mangalore train in order to avoid being ragged by some other students. The student who had sustained serious injuries is presently under treatment in a hospital in Kasargod.
It has also been learnt that a number of students were now opting to travel by bus tired of the ragging incidents in trains.
