Mangalore : Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Kreedotsava-III will be held on January 18, 19 and 20, 2013 in the fields adjacent to Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple, Badaga Yedapadav, Mijar.The event will be inaugurated by DV Sadananda Gowda, former chief minister.
Informing this to reporters, Vijaynath Vittal Shetty, Chief Organiser of the event said the Kreedotsava organised during the past two years had evoked good response and has encouraged the organisers to arrange it for the third successive year. He said this year there will be competitions in 40 games spanning 70 categories with prize money aggregating to over Rs. 15 lakhs along with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
There will be popular games like Kesarugadde Ota (Slush field Race), Kesarugadde Hagga Jaggata (Tug of War), Kasarugadde Nidhi Shoda, Naisargika Dehardadya (Natural Body Building), Cycle Race, Patreyalli Neeru Thumbuvudu (Filling Water in Vessel). Several new games like Brick Walk,Mud Wrestling, Pyramid and Ball Game are being added this year.
There are couples only games like Jodi Kesarugadde Ota and tyre race and drawing competition for kids.There are also exclusive games for senior citizens too. Special games like Alankrata Dhana (Best Decorated Cow), Ati Sundara Koli (Best Looking Cock) and Kori Ota too have been organised. There will also be Rangoli, Beedi Rolling, Mudi Kattuvudu (Mudi Rice Packing) and Madal Katte (Coconut Leaf Design).
The Best Village trophy will be given to the village scoring the highest number of points based on the wins the villagers have earned in the different sporting events. The trophy comprises of cup and attractive prize money of Rs. 1,00,000 and Rs.50,000.
Bollywood star Sunil Shetty will be the chief guest at the Manassuda Ullasogu Bodad Enchinala Malpuva, a talent show, where any individual or group having a special talent in any field may perform before the judges panel. The programme will be held on 19th January 6:00 p.m. onwards.
There will also be entertainment programmes every evening including a Live Concert renowned playback singer Rajesh Krishnan on 20th January 7:00 p.m. onwards.
On all 3 days, free bus services will be provided from Yedapadavu to Temple from the morning and from temple to Yedavpadavu, Moodbidri and Mangalore at night after games and functions are over. The temple is also at a walking distance from Mijar-Baithari bus stop.
