Vittal : Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Odiyoor has said that he has plans to set up a Tulu Oripu Kendra in order to protect and promote Tulu language. He said Tuluvas should not stop their fight until Tulu is included in the eighth schedule of the constitution.
He was speaking at the programme ‘Aatida Aayamo’ organized at Sri Gurudeva Datta samsthanam of Odiyoor under the joint aegis of Sri Kshetra Odiyoorda Tulukoota and Sri Gurudeva Vidya Peetha.
AC Bhandari, KP Raghuram Shetty, President of Kanyana Gram Panchayat, Gurusharana Muliya Shanker Bhat, Amai Krishna Bhat, Headmaster of Odiyoor School, Jayanth J Kotian, President of the Mangalore unit of Sri Gurudeva Seva Balaga Odiyoor, T Taranath Kottari, Principal Convenor of Sri Gurudeva Grama Vikasa Yojana Odiyoor were present as chief Guests.
As many as 77 Aati delicacies had been prepared by contestants of the cooking contest. The first price went to Suguna GK Urva, Mangalore for Menthe Soppu and Vitamin Soppu Chattambade, while the second prize went to Chandravathi Bedagudde for Halasina Koonjiya Pathrode. Sabitha Konchady bagged the consolation prices for preparing the highest number of dishes.
Seraje Ganapathi Bhat, Convenor of Sri Gurudeva Vidya Peetha, Odiyoor, welcomed the gathering, Subrahmanya Odiyoor proposed the vote of thanks. Sadashiva Alike compered the programme.
