Udupi :  Srinivasa Kalyanotsav programme was inaugurated with great fanfare at Malpe shores on February 9, Saturday under the aegis of the  Srinivas Kalyanotsav Samithi, Malpe and Sri Venkatramana Temple, Karamballi.

The Utsava Murthy was taken in a procession from the Udupi Krishna Mutt to the Malpe shores in a colourful procession accompanied by  bhajans and chende team.

Various leaders including  Pramod Madhwaraj, Vice President of the Srinivasa Kalyanotsav Samithi, G Shanker, its president, Raghupathi Bhat, Working President, former MLA Sabhapathi, Uday Kumar shet t y and others were present

The Utsava Murthy of Lord Venkateshwara from Tirupathi and Tirumala temples were brought to Udupi by a group of priests and scholars from Tirupathi. Sri  Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, Udupi Paryaya Sode Vadiraja Mutt  offered a special prayer at Udupi Krishna Mutt on February 9.   Various prayers like the Vishwaklena, Ankurarpana, Rashabandhan, Agni prathiste and Mangalyadharane were some of the poojas specially held on the occasion.

On Sunday,  30.000 coins will be offered to Lord Srinivasa and the same would be distributed among devotees.
