Bangalore: New Bellary rural MLA, B.Sriramulu has developed cold feet, after making bombastic statements about seeing the funeral of ruling BJP in Karnataka, with his own following of 22 MLAs in that party.
While JD-S appears disappointed with B.Sri’s announcement of a new “BSR” party, congress is divided into two halves with Sangamesh quitting Congress as MLA this week.
DVS Gowda has sent fresh pointers to Sriramulu, perhaps offering a ministership, as was given to Varthur Prakash (a rebel), and it appears that B.Sri is already netted by CM.
Congress is torn to bits, by an unheard of Anad Gaddadevaramth as its official candidate against a popular CM, instead of making the by-poll unnecessary by unanimous selection of DVS Gowda, who nevertheless is sure to win.
Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa has again told BJP high-up leaders in N.Delhi, that if he is not made CM by Jan 14 (Sankramana), he would quit BJP.
By that time, Gowda will be a MLC and elected leader of Upper house, and why should BJP have a thorn in its flesh, as Yeddy is? BJP has 121 seats in a house of 224. Congress has 76 and JD-S 26. There are 6 independents now. Only if BJP MlA’s, say cross-voting 22 (under Sriramulu), really do DVS Gowda may fall.
But congress is at the losing end in any formula made for success, by repeating its mistakes.
