Mangalore : The Swabhimani Sankalpa Yatra which started Karwar to Ramnagar from July 29 to August 5, arrived Mangalore on August 2, Thursday with Poornakumbha Swagatha accompanied by the Kerala chande and other folk dance troupes.
Speaking after inaugurating the convention at Town Hall, Sriramulu, and the founder of the Swabhimani BSR Congress said that ‘I never expected the BRS Congress will receive huge support from the people of Mangalore’. I have established a new party with a hope to help the poor and downtrodden.
He also said that the people in the rural area are suffering from drinking water facility. The Former CM B S Yeddyurappa who started the Bhagyalakshmi scheme, has never given a bond to any of the beneficiaries.
The people of Dakshina Kannada have the feeling that BJP is only the party for Hindu’s and now this has to be washed from their head and build confidence in them that BSR Congress party is there for the farmers, downtrodden and general public irrespective of caste. The party must build confidence that we all are Indians and struggle to bring Lokpal Bill in the state.
He also said that the padayatra has been taken up with the intention to fill confidence in farmers and general public that the party and its members are always with them. I don’t want any top and senior minister to share my dais in any of the function, but want the general public to support in his every step towards building the party.
Expressing his confidence, he said that in the coming election, BSR Congress party will surely come into power, with a hope to solve the people problem in the state.
Early many regional parties were formed, but none have succeeded and BSR Congress has the hope to win with the help of public support. The states like Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir too, regional parties have come to power. In the coming elections, Karnataka will also have a young and promising Chief Minister from a regional political party come to power, he said.
Speaking on the occasion actress and member of BSR Congress Rakshita, condemned the recent attack on college girls by Hindutva outfits at a homestay.
Girish Rai, regional chief of BSR Congress also spoke. Other party core committee members Venkatesh Gowda, Praveen Peter, Khalid, Siraj Shaikh were present among others.
Sriramulu handed over the party flag to the new members into the party.
