She was addressing gathering of the students after inaugurating ‘Srusti Nature Club’, organized by Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, on Wednesday, at AIET Seminar Hall, Mijar.
Trees are the best things we can leave behind as we move on in our lives. Elders should encourage students to take up the cause of saving environment, she noted. She added and said, children need to be taught not just plant trees, but also nurture them. What nature provides with is not for humans alone, it belongs to every living organism.
Expressing her annoyance over the fact that her request for a hospital in her village Hulikal is not met, she said though government showed interest in initial stage, later it was totally sidelined and ignored. He urged the government to fulfill her demand as early as possible, so that it would help rural people. She sang few folk songs to explain how nature provided for all its creatures without discrimination. Later she was felicitated in the function.
