Mangalore : SSLC exams began across the state on Friday March 28. As many as 8.26 lakh students include about 7.63 lakh freshers, 21,670 private candidates and 41,269 repeaters appearing for the SSLC exams in the state.
In Dakshina Kannada district total of 35,011 students including 18559 boys and 16452 girls appearing for the SSLC examination.
The exams will be held upto April 19. Examination starts at 9.30 am to 12.15 pm. The engineering, drawing and music examination have been scheduled between 2 pm and 5.15 pm.
Total 101 examination centres and five centres have been opened for private candidates in Dakshina Kannada district,. For the first time, the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board arranged medical teams with physicians and other staff for the emergency purpose.
Two police personnel have been deployed at each centre. In 200 meters distance Xerox centres request to shut down during the exams.
In view of the Lok Sabha elections in the State on April 17, the evaluation of answer scripts will begin on April 19 instead of April 14.
KSEEB officials said the results were likely to be announced a month after evaluation work commenced.
