Mangalore : The results of the SSLC exams 2013 held in April this year were announced on May 6, Monday.The state has registered 77.46% success in the SSLC results this year. Udupi district which stood first last year, has slipped to third position with a pass percentage of 87.68. Chikkodi district with maximum pass percentage of 89.86 has secured the first place. Mandya district with 88.56 pass percentage stood second. Kolar (86.41%) and Hassan (86%) have secured fourth and fifth places respectively. Dakshina Kannada which had registered 84 pass percentage last year has slipped to 78.77 pass percentage this year.
Sudheendra a student of Vijaya High school in Bangalore, scored 622 out of 625 and became the topper in the State. Manvitha, Daughter of Shobha M and A N Mohandas, Pajir Village, Bantwal Taluk and a student of Vishwa Mangala High School Konaje, scored 621 out of 625 marks and became the second topper in the state. She scored 125 in English, 99 in Hindi, 99 in Kannada, 98 in Science and 100 each in Social Studies and Mathematics.
As usual girls have out done the boys in over all pass percentage. 82.9% of girls have passed in the examination where in the pass percentage of boys is 73.25%. 6, 47,951 students have passed out of the 8,36, 342 students who had appeared for the Karnataka Education Board SSLC exams held in April, 2013.
