Mangalore : The Community Awareness Campaign on Solid Waste Management was organized by the department of Commerce of St Agnes College at the college on October 11, Monday.
Participating as the chief guest on the occasion, Max Rasquinha, toastmaster and social entrepreneur, Houston, USA said that we must preserve every element of nature as the pat of human body. Hence it is necessary to create awareness on the waste management among the people.
Our country has large number of natural resources, but people are neglecting it and trying acquiring other things to rule the nation, he said.
The students of the college formally inaugurated the programme with a Chinese dance. Later, a skit was enacted to describe the process of waste management.
Executive co-ordinator of the International Institute for Public Policy Anita Gomes gave the brief introduction of the chief guest. Dr Devi Prabha Alva welcomed the guests and gathering. Anjali Rao compered the programme. Rashmita proposed the vote of thanks on the occasion.
