Mangaluru: A woman lecturer was killed after she was run over by a private bus on Wednesday March 23 morning.

The deceased has been identified as Joyline Monis (24), lecturer in Commerce at St Agnes College here.

Sources said that Joyline was riding her two-wheeler when she lost balance and fell on the road. Route number 15 bus which was passing by, ran over her, killing her on the spot. Her sister who was riding pillion escaped without injuries.

Soon after the accident, a crowd gathered at the spot and staged a protest. However, the police arrived and brought the situation under control.
