Mangalore: While tempers ran hot with students in St.Aloysius College today (Friday) for the college administration’s act of suspending 10 protestors on streets on Thursday from that college, the Principal maintained silence on the alleged suspension of 10 PUC students for the crime of boycotting their classes to demonstrate on streets, in favour of Anna Hazare’s national movement against corruption.
ABVP leaders gathered at the entrance to the college, to intensify the struggle against public corruption on Thursday, but the authorities of the autonomous college refused permission. The ABVP accused the Principal of suspending 10 boys for staging demonstrations at the college on Thursday.
Those students who have taken part in Friday agitation were agitated both ways, but they returned to their classes later. The college staff said permission was given for demonstration only on Wednesday, and not thereafter.
