Mangalore : The annual feast and general body of the St. Christopher Association Mangalore was held on Sunday August 7.

The vicar general of Mangalore Diocese Msgr. Denis Prabhu participated in the concelebrated mass at the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Mangalore.

Later at the general body association meeting was held at the Rosario Cultural Hall. Dr Edward Nazareth, an ortho Surgeon of Fr Muller’s Hospital Mangalore was the chief guest. Msgr Denis Prabhu, the vicar general of Mangalore Diocese presided over the programme.

During the occasion 13 children of the members of the association were honoured for securing distinction in their respective educational courses.

Apart from it, four distinguished personalities like  Dr Edward Nazreth was awarded Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy Award for literature, Agnel Rodrigues, Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy Award for Media, Raisa Annica D’Souza on securing 1st rank in BSW and Royston Pinto for winning 2 gold medals in special Olympics games held in Athens, Greece were honoured.

Sushil Noronha, president of the association welcomed the gathering. Victor Menezes, secretary of the association read the annual report. Harold D’Souza, assistant secretary of the association proposed vote of thanks. Victor Vas compered the programme.
