Mangalore: St Christopher Education celebrates Easter Celebration at Cheshire Home, Kankanady on April 23, Saturday.
Fr Stanly Goveas, director of St Christopher Education was the chief guest.
MG Hegde, Janata Dal (S) State general secretary said that people pray to god in different manner but the best service rendered to god is through service given to the poor and untrodden. God will love the people of every religion who provide life, food, education and shelter to the poor and physically challenged.
He also said that it is better to celebrate the feast with the physically challenged people and share happiness rather than to celebrate alone.
Critising the attacks on the orphanages, he said that attacking and criticizing any good work is easy but it is difficult to continue the same work by themselves.
The Hindu activists have constructed many temple, marriage halla and schools for donation, but not ready to establish any orphanages for poor.
MLA UT Khader said that working for the old, orphans and physically challenge is the best service in the world.
Sushil Naronha, president of Cheshire Home welcomed the gathering.
Victor, Sr Amala Reddy, superior of Cheshire were present. Leena comepred the programme. Fr Stanly Goveas briefed the importance of Good Friday and Easter.
Later the guests distributed sweets among the members of Cheshire home.
