Mumbai : As the entire nation welcomed Lord Ganesh on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on 29 August, Bollywood too celebrated the festival with their family.
Shraddha Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Govinda, Jeetendra, Vivek Oberoi, Sonu Sood, Shreyas Talpade, Shakti Kapoor and others offered their prayers as they welcomed the deity to their homes.
Bollywood star Salman Khan has been regularly celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi for over 12 years now at his Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra. However, this year the superstar had to miss the festival as he had to leave for Los Angeles for a routine health checkup.
Even Shah Rukh Khan, brings his Ganpati home every year, where the entire family celebrates Ganeshotsav.
While, Ranbir Kapoor and his entire family gets together and celebrates the special occasion, Neil Nitin Mukesh and his family every year bring one of the most beautiful and largest Ganesha idols to their home. Lord Ganesh stays with the family for the entire 11-day period.
Hrithik Roshan celebrates with his family and joins the crowds at Juhu during the Ganpati celebrations. The “Bang Bang” star is a believer of Lord Ganesha.
Even Govinda, Shakti Kapoor, Sood celebrated the festival by bringing the lord to their homes.
Meanwhile, several Bollywood biggies took to micro-blogging site Twitter to join the celebration and wish their fans love and luck. Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and others wished that the lord brings peace and love to everyone.
