Mangaluru : Union minister of statistics and programme implementation DV Sadananda Gowda has ‘predicted’ the fall of coalition government in Karnataka within a month.
“The state government will fall within 15–30 days,” Gowda told reporters here on Tuesday. He said the coalition government was formed by Congress and JD(S) not in the interests of people and state.
“They have formed the government only to keep the BJP away from the corridors of power. Congress and JD(S) leaders are power hungry and ready to go to any extent for power. Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has agreed to form coalition government just because of his party high command’s pressure,” said Gowda, who was in Mangaluru on Tuesday.
Recalling Siddaramaiah’s recent statements hinting at another stint as CM, Gowda said, “He was preparing mentally to topple the coalition government in the initial stage itself and now it has been proved. Within 15 – 30 days, the government will fall.”
However, Gowda added that Siddaramaiah has been day dreaming to become the next chief minister. “With its present strength, Siddaramaiah cannot form a government. BJP will never support (Siddaramaiah). In such a scenario, who else will support Siddaramaiah? Now he is in a mental conflict,” Gowda noted.
On Rafale Deal, Gowda said Congress should not politicize the issue. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already expressed his readiness to face any type of investigation. Rahul Gandhi lacks proper information on the issue,” he added.
