Mangalore : State fisheries minister Anand Asnotikar, visited the old port of Mangalore too look at the present condition on October 17, Monday.
After listening to the grievances of the port employees, he said that he was aware of the problem and assured to take required steps by the state government.
He also said that Sharad Pawar, the union minister for agriculture, will visit the old port on Nov 2 to lay the cornerstone for the third phase of the dock construction project.
Speaking on the recent attack on trucks transporting fish in Kerala, he said that he has written to the Kerala secretary of fisheries to take required steps to prevent such assaults in future.
