Udupi : The state government has released an order banning use of mobiles by teachers at primary schools and high schools. State minister of education Suresh Kumar said that orders are issued in this connection to all the education officers of the districts in the state.

The ban has come soon after a video of a teacher assaulting a student who could not pronounce ‘Pakkelubu’ went viral in social media.

Minister Suresh Kumar reacting to the video said that he felt very sad when he saw the fear on the face of the child who could not pronounce ‘Pakkelubu’. “How will his parents feel then? The teacher is suspended. The mobiles are banned so that such incidents do not reoccur in schools,” he said.
