Mangalore : Kota Srinivasa Poojary, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha State unit president and Member of Legislative Council on Sunday urged members of Dakshina Kannada unit of the morcha to fight against the flawed policies of the State government and to strengthen the party.
Speaking after inaugurating a meeting of the district unit of the morcha here, Mr. Poojary said the Congress-led State government, which “swore in the name of backward classes”, thinks that criticising the forward class itself was a service done to the OBCs.
However, the BJP believes in the upliftment of OBCs and bringing them on par with the forward classes, he said. Drawing parlays between the Union and State governments, Mr. Poojary said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity had gone up by 15 per cent after 100 days in the office whereas Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s popularity had gone down.
The State government appears to have lost all five vital organs (panchendriyas), he said.
Mr. Poojary suggested the morcha take up the issue of linking ration cards with EPIC/Aadhaar cards on a serious level.
