Mangaluru: “To provide a permanent protection to the traditional sport Kambala, the government is all set to present a bill in the assembly session which will be started from February 6,” said Chief Whip of the government in Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza.
Addressing the press personnel on Thursday at his office in MCC, he said that discussions have been held with law Minister T B Jayachandra regarding this. He has accepted to support Kamabala.
“If the court doesn’t favour Kambala, then the government is ready to take the action in order to save Kambala. Presenting the bill regarding Kambala is the aim of the government,” he said.
Further commenting on the Yettinahole project he said that in the last meeting held at CM’s residence wasn’t fruitful. The protestors couldn’t give suitable answers.
“Only some of the protesters have problem with project,” he added.
Congress leaders Nagendra Kumar, Muhammad Rafi, Nazeer Bajal, Manu Raj and others were present.
