Bangalore : The state government is contemplating collection of toll on state highways developed under Private and Public Participation.

Giving a hint in this regard in Bangalore, PWD minister  said toll collection is inevitable considering road safety and development. He said a final decision would be taken after discussing the  issue in the cabinet meeting.

The Minister said officials are  trying to find out regarding the toll amount to be collected from different state highways,

It may be recalled here that the previous BJP government too had plans in this regard but had dropped the proposal with elections round the corner.

It is now feared that the plans of the Congress government may invite criticism.
