Mangalore : Mangalore North MLA BA Moideen Bava said that the home minister has finally announced to compensate Kabeer’s family with Rs 10 lakh, but the government must grant him the compensation of Rs 25 lakhs at least.
Speaking at the press meet held at District Congress office on April 24, Thursday, Bava said that the Congress party took the Kabeer’s case with the government and within 6 days, the family has been announced with compensation.
He also said that the Kabeer case was not a matter of religion, but a matter of justice which must be supported against such inhumane act.
Bava said that the accused ANF personnel identified as Naveen Nayak, who opened fire at Kabeer have been booked under Section 302, 295 (A), and 341 of IPC, further the government must suspend him and be imprisoned.
The state government must also take stringent action against the people who attacked the family of Kabeer, when they went to receive his body.
Bava said that the incident have affected his sister mentally. Kabeer’s family stays in a rented house and is burdened. He said that he has also taken the initiative to open an account in Kabeer’s mother’s name, so that people can contribute their financial assistance to the family.
