Sullia : BJP National Vice President and former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda has claimed that the state has seen development to a significant extent during the second half of the BJP rule in the state.
Speaking at a party workers convention held at Sullia on April 9 Tuesday, the former CM also admitted that the BJP rule was marred by confusion in the initial two years.
Alleging that bribe amount ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 5 crores has passed hands while selection of Congress candidates for Assembly elections, he said there was a need for a CBI probe into the same.
He said the implementation of the Sakala scheme has helped in the disposal of as many as 1.7 crore applications and added the scheme has attracted nationwide attention.
The convention was earlier inaugurated by Sulochana GK Bhat, State Vice President of the party. NA Ramachandra, Election Publicity Committee President, presided over the function. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP and MLC Monappa Bhandari also spoke.
Several party leaders including Naveen Kumar Menala, Pulasya Rai, Asha Timmappa, Sumathi Narayana were present.
