Bangalore : The Reddy brothers of Bellary, ministers in BJP rule, have been slapped with a penalty of Rs.25000 in connection with a court case against them, and Karnataka high court has asked them to pay the fine, for holding an office of profit, while being ministers with pay & perks separately.
Although the penalty amount is small, the Reddy brothers are shaken by its impact, as the petition given to the High court was not in duplicate. The advocate for Reddy brothers was not present in court, nor was a second copy of the petition given.
A bench of judge, chief justice J.S.Khehar & justice Ashoke Hinchigere felt dissatisfied & imposed the fine of Rs.25000 on to Janardhana & Karunakara Reddy, of Bellary are mining fame.
