Mangalore : The Inauguration of Sharada first grade BCom, BBM and BSc College by Tulunad Education Trust was held at Sharada School premises on July 10, Saturday.
Speaking after inaugurating the college, Dr VS Acharya, state home minister, said that the college must not only give education to students referred in the syllabus, but also provide general and value education that will help them in future to build good nation.
Today Karnataka is at the top most position in quality education and social sector, hence it maintain its status more donors must come forward to join hands with government and establish more schools and colleges.
The government has also sanctioned the amount of Rs 10, 500 crores for education in the budget. We need to excel more in education because at present day every definition will change, he said.
He urged the management to provide the extra curricular activities like value education, dance, singing and Yoga to all the students.
Later he also released the prospectus of the college.
Chief Guest Prof Shivashankar Murthy, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University said that efforts should be made to bring the level of higher education to 20 percent in the following decade by establishing 800 universities and 35,000 colleges.
Mangalore University has approved the establishment of 14 new colleges in Mangalore and the experts will examine the environment of the campus and submit report to government for sanction and Sharada is among the 8 government approved college, he said.
At present, education and health sector which is being established as the service sector is changing into a commercial unit, he informed.
Delivering the benedictory speech on the occasion, Sri Vishwesha Teerta Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt, said that, the students must adopt two things in life, that is belief in god and find god in every person and respect them, which is more essential in life.
